  1. This is something that is virtually non existent these days but could you provide all new releases of aircraft with a stand? This was a permanent fixture from my childhood and I miss it I know most new kits are designed to be displayed with open canopy's and landing gear etc but sometimes it's good to have a few on a stand, some aircraft look better in flight. For that matter aircrew as well. This is often an aftermarket job unless the kit is a 30 year old re-relase but why not provide all options? You already release a kit with several versions available from one model so why not allow for wheels up and in flight?
  2. Yeah totally I think all of those are really good ideas. Plus there's a much overlooked conflict for the British forces and I'm talking about Northern Ireland so a Saracen as well and the Police landrovers the RUC had I remember them as a kid and also besides tanks the British army had so much equipment here so I think all of the helicopters and road going vehicles are definitely worth doing as outside of Accurate Armour you can't get those vehicles that I'm aware of correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Considering the quality of the new Airfix releases I'd really like to see a new tool 1/72 Concorde. I know this is highly unlikely but I think if this was done with engines or at least one engine that could be opened up or even clear surfaces like a fuselage half or even a wing with clear engine covers. Airliners never have a lot of detail going on internally but as the Concorde is huge in 1/72 but also narrow it wouldn't be too big I don't think. You could have all the seats full, cockpit and mould a few rock stars and movie stars to sit inside, overhead lockers and baggage hold underneath. I think as it was so far ahead of its time from an engineering standpoint that it would be unique to be able to have lots of internals like the structure, wiring, plumbing, fuel tanks etc in the wings and fuselage. I know the Concorde had 13 fuel tanks or so and pumped fuel around for ballast and I think it would not only be educational to be able to see all of this detail but just a really great model. I know I'm speaking for myself saying that and it would be an expensive RRP but I think it would be a hit. Also in case this is considered by you guys at Airfix please don't mould it in white plastic it's a pain lol make it in grey I'll paint it white myself 😂.
  4. Definitely I agree but I prefer aircraft, Wessex, Puma, Lynx, Sea King, Gazelle.

    Warspite

Not much to say but a 1/350 HMS Warspite would be pretty good. The only one that was available I recall was the Academy one but I don't think it's available anymore so a new one would be great.
  6. Okay I'm just gonna say what I'd love to see since Airfix is basically a leading manufacturer of model kits once again. I remember 15 or so years ago things weren't looking good. Now though, well another story so I hope there's loads going on we just don't know about. I asked for the 1/48 Sea King and a few months later it happened. Obviously nothing to do with me it was coincidence so I hope it's coincidence again. New tool let's go: 1/48: Sea Harrier FRS1 and FA2 plus the RAF variants. Jaguar all variants Phantom all UK versions plus the F-4J because the Americans will have that too. Puma, I'm not even aware of any model of a Puma in this scale, please let me know if there is. Wessex both RN and RAF Gazelle because I'm not even aware of any model of this helicopter in 1/48. All of the above served in operations in Northern Ireland, also Chinook. Lightning both single seat and two seat trainer because why not? Tornado F3 PLEASE! Also all other variants so there's an alternative to the Revell one which these days the moulds haven't aged well. I'd happily pay £70 like the Buccaneer for a decent 1/48 Tornado. Also a 1/48 F-35 with RN/RAF markings. Then finally a Eurofighter Typhoon I had to add this. My list probably looks a bit like a rant but there's so many good RAF/RN subjects that never get done and so many which are in need of a new tool. I'm aware that there's a very slim chance all or even some of these would get made but as an avid 1/48 scale aviation model builder who likes cold war and modern aircraft go I'd love to see new versions of these. I assume each new kit is a years long process and I'd be happy to wait but the UK has a lot of modern/cold war subjects that nobody tools. If this post never gets seen at least I asked Lol!
  7. I think you'd get a great looking model if there was a 1/24 Lynx it's a small enough helicopter and used in so many roles in so many services around the world I'm surprised it's not been done yet as with the rotors folded it would be ok shelf space wise. An odd scale for a helicopter but for this one I think it would work, especially next to the 1/24 Sea Harrier!
  8. I've used the clear plastic from the collar of shirt packaging and even used the plastic from food containers often you can cut these with scissors and for something so small it's probably closer to scale thickness than the provided kit parts in 1/72 scale.
  9. Pretty much what the title says. I think this would be great to go as the opposite number to the Hellcat. I'm sure there would be a great job on the radial engine as with the Hellcat.
  10. I spent about 6 months building this and it needed almost no filler at all. The tolerances are very tight though so I painted the engine after I had completed it fully including the wiring. It went together pretty easily though I was surprised due to complexity of the kit. The whole model is just great to be honest. I should have smoothed the surface of the plastic before painting though as the grainy texture is visible in the paint. I have polished the life out of the painted surfaces with Tamiya polishing compound from coarse to finish and it almost became an obsession lol. The surface literally squeaks when buffed now. A Zero would be a good opposite number for this in 1/24 I would say. I'm glad it's finished as it was a real long term project but I'm glad I tackled it and other than time consuming it really wasn't a difficult build. I had to post photos separately as I was having trouble getting lots in one go so if anyone wants to see more just ask and I'll post more but I think I got al angles here.
  11. A great kit from Airfix and required virtually zero filler. Although if you're building this kit be aware that you will want to smooth the plastic surface prior to painting as I didn't and it's visible in some light. Otherwise I'm very happy with how it turned out. Enjoy the photos. I might have to spread them across a few posts as there are quite a few.
  12. That's looking great. I am currently building the same model. The fit of the fuselage halves is very tight once everything is inside so just a heads up on that as before painting mine fit together no problem but after it seemed to be really tight. Otherwise it goes together perfectly. Which scheme are you going to do?
  13. I'm new here so I don't know of these wishlists are taken seriously but I would really like a 1/48 scale Sea King. They were the main helicopter from my time in the Royal Navy and I think a model of this aircraft would be great if possible. With a full interior as well I must add. I flew in these only once over the Mediterranean sea but we had them embarked on HMS Illustrious all the time. The Merlin was only just being introduced into the Royal Navy as I was leaving so I never saw them up close. I suppose nostalgia is why I'd like one but also because it would go nicely with the 48th scale Lynx I have had on my shelf for years. I hope someone with a say at least considers this as even though it's not a British aircraft it was the most common helicopter while I was in the navy and surprisingly nobody anywhere has made one.
  14. Are there any plans for a new tool 1/48 UK Phantom or new tool Tornado? Revell have released some Tornados which are quite good kits but other than those there isn't really any other choice. Also a British Phantom please! American Phantoms in 1/48 are ten a penny but for OOB UK variants there aren't any unless you include the Revell rebox of the decades old Hasrgawa kit. Also 1/48 Sea Harriers the FRS1 and FA2 would be nice. I know WW2 is probably the bread and butter of most model companies but personally I'd like to see these if that's a remote possibility. I like cold war/modern aircraft and in order to get British aircraft like these you have to normally buy aftermarket decals at a minimum. Other than the limited range thats available OOB there isn't much for British jet aircraft. Would Airfix consider these as a future possibility?
