P4 of the catalogue gives the dimensions I have posted.

As per the tt120 hornby catalogue it states a 5x4 (feet) board would easily accomodate the oval in the sets and all the track packs.

The reply above from GS is better

A big well done to SK and team for running a live Q&A. They did not have to do this and I found it very informative with some of my questions even getting answered. Like it has been said not many others would do this. I am newish to this hobby and I see the negative comments on RMWeb that are posted time and time again about Hornby, I will not be rushing to join any such forum! If it wasn't for Hornby's new tt range I would have no intetest in this hobby so for me they deserve alot of credit for how they conduct themselves. As for retailers not being part of tt I have to say in todays economy this makes perfect sense in keeping costs down although it does not help with my pre order list continually growing. A big thankyou to Hornby for giving me a hobby that I know I am going to enjoy 👍

Agree, they answered alot of questions including some of mine. Hats off to the three of them, very impressed.

Got it, thanks

I missed the date thinking that was a screenshot from today. Thanks Roger

I am not convinced as I cannot find anything about it on the hornby website. I do hope there is a q&a tomorrow.

There needs to be better comms from Hornby
-
Nothing!

All the waiting means there's a real risk I will just keep adding to my order grinning
-
No problem, Perhaps should not have tagged onto the waiting decades bit. Hope I did not cause any upset as non intended. Posts are so easy to read the wrong way sometimes.

I am new to this hobby or will be once I receive any of my pre orders. Advertising is very powerful and Hornby attracted me with their range which is brand new and of British locos/rolling stock etc, not from the 50-60s as triang is. I have no interest in other countries railways. Just my opinion for what its worth 😉 (not much)

I am new to this hobby also having been interested from a young age but never having the room to actually build a decent layout. I expect it will be a learning curve once items start to arrive but an enjoyable one. We all have to start somewhere 👍

I've waited many decades, an extra month or two won't harm me!
Same here.

I read somewhere at least twice that Hornby are looking at flying the sets over ??? ?
-
Got the welcome pack last week and the magazine about an hour ago. I think its a case of patience due to unexpected demand.
-
To be fair the track packs when I pre ordered them were and always have been advertised as "expected spring 2023" so any sooner would be a bonus.
-
I'm hoping my tt membership etc is caught up in the postal stikes. I have had no post for a week and post lady said they have a very large backlog. It could be the same for others?
-
Pretty much the same for me, Easterner pre ordeted and a very long wish list. Never had the space for an 00 layout but I can fit a good sized tt layout in the space I have.
-
Double track helix or is one already available? Any one know
-
Well done Hornby. I have just pre ordered the easterner set with more to follow. I have wanted to build a layout since I can remember but never had the space with N gauge being far too small and 00 being just too big. A happy medium!

I just reordered everything no real hassle reallu just time spent doing it. Obviously its worth doing for the significant discount on future orders you get!
I suppose another option for existing big pre orders is to contact Simon Kohler- he gave out his email on the latest video, I am sure they are able to rectify it if they know about it, there must be a simple fix?
