  1. Thanks for the reply, I checked them out but couldn't see the fonts only the names of the font. I shall try and find a decal provider
  2. I have some Thomas the Tank Engine carriages. On the side are the names Annie and Clarabelle. Can anyone suggest a company or someone that can make white transfers in a similar size and font. I need several different name made. Thank you Warwick Laken
  3. Thank you for your help. I went and measured the voltage across the live rollers and only measured between 1 and 5 volts AC. I took the rollers off and cleaned the oil from them.. Once reassembled I measured the the voltage but no improvement. After some messing about found that if I lifted the roller blocks up off the deck all worked well. I shall be increasing the insulation tape thickness later Thanks for the help
  4. I have just purchased a brand new rolling road, The issue is none of my trains will work on the rolling bearings. I am using 3 axle trains. I have power to the fixed track but that is all. Any ideas as to what maybe wrong? Cheers
  5. Thank you for getting back to me, I didn't realise it was that old, I bought it brand new from Hornby and only ran it for the first time a month ago. I will replace the tyres and see what happens. Thanks again
  6. My diesel 261was brand new out of the box and run for about 40 minutes to break it in. It ran perfectly easily coping with my 2% slope. Yesterday and today the engine stops on the slope with the wheels spinning, this is with the train pulling no loads. I have cleaned the track and the train wheels are clean, the two rubber tires appear to be secure. Has anyone got a fix please
  7. Hello, I have just bought an R4518a LNER Gresley Suburban 3rd class coach and an R4516 LNER Gresley Suburban 3rd class breakcoach and wanted to put lights into them. Sadly I cannot get the bodywork apart. I have tried to find information online but, so far I have found nothing to help. Can anyone tell me how to split the bodywork from the chassis, it appears to me that the the parts may have been glues together. Thank you
  8. Thank you "Going Spare", days on the internet and telephone calls have drawn me to the same conclusion. This morning I found one and bought what will be a a reasonable train for spares. Thanks again
  9. Could someone please recommend somewhere that I can purchase a cabtop with the coalbunker for my R850 Percy train. I have tried eBay and had a different Hornby Percy shell delivered, and Hornby's recommendation of "ACModels" are moving premises and will be offline for a few weeks. Thanks
  10. Thanks for all the useful advice, the buzzer idea could have saved me an awful lot of time rewireing the droppers. I only have one dcc ready train as yet and it is safely still unboxed, I do have a lot of decoders to fit to my trains so will be more than likely back here again when I make mistakes.
  11. I feel a bit of a numpty? after days of searching for a short, Howbiman mentioned my turntable. That prompted me to think and the roundhouse model my father built. Inside were two trains. Trains off the track and no short circuits. Im still new to this!!!!
  12. The turntable is not connected as yet.
  13. Hi Rog, I have not conneced the bus wires to anything yet. I dont want to connect as I believe there is a short
  14. I have just finished wiring all my droppers onto the two bus wires. I have not put power to the track yet but found a short between the two rail lines. I corrected the dropper mistakes and soldered them to the bus wires. I have checked and double checked the polarity of the droppers to the bus and they are correct, yet wherever i measure the resistance between the two rails I get a resistance of 110 ohms. All my track and points are Hornby and as yet have not fitted the point clips. I would appreciate any thoughts an the problem. Thank you
  15. Thank you all for the help. I have read with great interest Tenders turntable, its helpful but more complicated than I want to go. I have the turntable connected up. Its the software that I need, my efforts have seen the turntable going round like a propeller to shorts jumpy spurts, no happy medium.
