  1. I have just setup my 8pin 4 function DCC locos to run on select via dongle. I’m now looking to add sound. Will locos with TTS sound work - setting them up as I did with my other locos (would need to buy these first) OR is the best move to buy 8 pin TXS decoders and fit these to either new locos or swap on locos already fitted with dcc decoders. I am a complete novice.
  2. Sorry if in wrong forum and it shows unassigned not unregistered and again realised the code I refer to is the dongle so they are all using the same dongle. presume you can only use profiles if using sound DCC chips like TTS etc thank you all for comments
  3. I’ve added several locos using legacy dongle on my DCC layout. (Simple 8 pin decoders4 function) used. It works well, however, The app states they are all unregistered, Does this matter? They all have the same decoder setup code for Bluetooth, Is this the type of decoder installed? Yes, I know nothing 🤓
  4. The issue is when re-programming the loco using a select v1.6 they will not accept the previous addresses used 1, 2 or 3. However, I did get them to accept 6, 7 and 8. I use a programming track (un plug the wires from main track replace with programming track wires)
  5. Hi I’m new to DCC I have 5 locos originally programmed 1-5. Today I found that 3 of them had picked up 5 as the default. So I tried to change them back to 1, 2 and 4. Although it appeared to work (counting red flashes). They still worked on 5. I eventually managed to re-programme using addresses 6, 7, 8. Is this usual? can I maybe use 1-3 on new DCC chips in the future? thank you
  6. Thank you to P-Henry, bought end cutters from Toolstaion £9-45 Minotaur. Cut 18 point pins in a flash!
  7. What is the Best cutter for motor point pin when in situ? thank you
  8. Hi folks, I’m new to DCC and CV writing. I recently purchased a Hornby R2572 and put a gaugemaster DCC chip in it. Looking on internet for advice I’ve managed to get the lights partly working. When going in one direction the headcode is lit and there are red lights at the rear. Change direction only the headcode is lit. Is this a wiring fault? Or a programming CV or function fault. Using a Select controller v 1.6. any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  9. Hi Everyone, I am looking to purchase the HL10 layout, with the idea to change a few things. so I have purchased a copy of Anyrail software to replicate the layout and make changes. However, I can only obtain a poor version from the internet to copy the track items and layout. Bottom line is that sections don't quite fit they either overlap, fall short or are slightly out of line. Anyone got the track plan please or suggest any reasons why its not working out. Many thanks Chris
