  1. I couldnt see anything TT I wanted so I used my points on a OO Skaledale wall bundle. 5 sets of walls for £5! I can use them for my wargaming, great for Waterloo walls in 28mm or 1/72 gaming. Glad I offloaded my points now I see the huge price increases across the TT range.
  2. How to do a youtube video making something very complicated simple: How to do a youtube video making something very simple complicated: Its not rocket science Hornby
  3. I wasnt refering to you Fishmanoz, It was RAF response I found annoying. The thread starter has a legitimate issue and he fobbed him off saying its his own fault. Its not a good way to help new users. It looks like we were all fed incorrect info and unless we kept up with all the conversations in 2 different forums we have no idea. Hornby would do well to put out a short 10 minute basics video on youtube for newbys, not a 1 hour 20 minute marathon of more confusion
  4. BTW Sams Trains uploaded a review today and in his intro he said the same thing as Hornby. Use existing DC Controller turned up to 100%. If this is wrong and shouldnt be done then Hornby need to clarify this ASAP. "Sorry we were wrong, DC users should bin their controller and buy our dongle"
  5. I think scoulding the original poster for not reading the manual is a bit much. The last TT talk Simon said these work with DC controllers. As someone else said the webpage says to keep your DC controller plugged in on max power. The front of the box of the decoders says "Tri Mode - Functions with HM - DCC app control - DCC and DC Controllers I thought exact as OP said, you put it on DC track with standard DC controller turned to 100% If thats wrong, its not OPs fault, its Hornbys
  6. Have upcoming Scotsman sets been confirmed to have lit Pullmans? Mod note - nothing to do with the thread topic. Please start your own thread if the question has not already been answered.
  7. The Kato Azuma set I received is phenomenal. I ended up paying £186 for it with discounts. The controller is better than any other I have tried before. The track is foolproof fitting together. I dont mind just keeping it as a loop with the Azuma and dedicating more time to TT. I bought 6 lots of steam era rolling stock though, just for the prices. 2 21t hoppers, 2 gunpowder vans and 2 7 plank wagons for £42 delivered. I just need to find a cheap shunter and get some points and its complete
  8. 50% price increase? Hornby, what are you doing?
  9. I bought the Scotsman and Easterner sets and really enjoyed them. I was bitten by the railway bug again. I kept checking the store pages and no updates other than a price increase on the platform pack. I decided to look at some n gauge products. I always thought n gauge was a rich mans hobby compared to oo. It was always double the cost when I was a kid. I found a full Azuma 5 car train set for £194 and a load of rolling stock for £6-7 each brand new. Long story short I now own the n gauge stuff I mentioned and its not as fiddly as mentioned. I still plan on buying more TT but Hornby needs to get the stock flowing and knock off any price hikes because theres a world of cheap n gauge out there for TT fallouts
  10. I think we can safely assume forum members here have a LOT of club points to throw around. I am sitting on another 15 quids worth waiting for the train sets to come back in stock
  11. Thanks Rallymatt. To be honest I am not a super serious railway modeller, been out of the hobby for 40 years or so. I dont mind running duplicate locos. Ideally I could flog the duplicate non dcc to buy a Mallard but will wait and see what happens. I did see a review of the easterner set on youtube where the chap said he was planning a full relivery of WW. I will see if I can find his channel and post it here for info
  12. I am thinking of buying a second Easterner set, most likely the TTX one. I need more coaches, track and decoder. Once you add up the cost the set is too good a deal to miss. The A4 becomes about £30-40, especially as our club discount does not cover the individual decoders. This would leave me with 2 William Whitelaws. I could flog the duplicate on ebay but I would rather keep it and give it a new identity. Q1 Is there an A4 with the same livery to avoid a repaint? Q2 Any ideas on sourcing new name plates
  13. Has anyone heard when the next batch of Easterner sets are due in stock?
  14. I notice the price of the TT platform pack has gone up from £12.99 to £15.99. I hope this out of the blue price hike is not a sign of things to come. Theres no easier way of killing TT before its got to its feet
