  1. Thanks v much PH & ntp for taking the time to respond - very helpful replies - which I think I can even understand! I've ordered a CDU, power distribution board, 12v power supply & the connector adaptor. He uses Hornby R8243 surface mounted point motor so hopefully will be compatible? Hopefully together with your instructions my son will be able to sort something out...

  3. Thanks so much for the very helpful and incredibly prompt replies above! What a nice forum this is! I've asked The Boy for further information about his set up and he tells me: "I have an analogue set up and the problem I am facing is that, although I have wired 3 sets of points into the back of the controller and they are functioning well, there is not enough room to plug more in, and I also want to plug some small lamps in . Is there a device that can take power from the mains and feed it into directly into the point motors and circuit without having to put it through the controller (hence taking up more room in the controller.)" I've just looked and he has an HM2000 controller. I have no idea if it's helpful but I include a photo Thanks in advance for any advice.
  4. Hi - my son has a 00 set and has made a birthday request for "Hornby contraption that allows me to connect multiple electric points in one machine". I have no idea what this means! I have asked him to explain - and its become apparent that he doesn't know if such a thing exists, but he wants to be able to power & control his points from one place. Is this possible? Could anyone suggest what this might be? Thanks!
