  1. Thanks Nick. Our loft is fully insulated, lined and boarded but not heated or ventilated. In the winter I have to wear a coat up there and in the summer I wear just my shorts! The best way to roughly stabilise the temperature is to keep the loft hatch open, but this only helps in the winter. It's still a cook house in the summer.
  2. I can't bear to think about freight yet! Will definitely come but off in the distance. I just watched all your YouTube videos. Your layout is coming along nicely, but your future plans look great. I'm currently looking at how I can use the loft for a really nice and long run.
  3. Very helpful, especially the guide to the codes. Thanks! I'll carry on collecting locos until I can buy a complete coach set.
  4. Hello. I should start by saying I don't know much about real or model trains, but I like this TT project and recently jumped in and bought the three different A4 locos. I would like to represent three realistic full length trains with them, so I have a few questions. 1) What is a realistic train length for Mallard, Falcon and Silver King - i.e. which types of coaches made up the train and how many, and which liveries would they be in? 2) Are these coaches and liveries available from Hornby? I can see several coaches listed, but I don't really know what I'm looking at. 3) If all of the coaches are not available (for example, I'm pretty sure there was food available on these trains) will they become available or should I look elsewhere? Thanks in advance for your help.
  5. Anyway, I have now joined the TT:120 Club and I've sent an email to Hornby to see if my initial purchase can be retroactively added to my Club points. No drama if it's not, but the points would come in handy for later. I'll make another purchase at the end of the month so I'm quite excited - I like to look of those HSTs. My first order is also on its way via DPD.
  6. I've just checked my current order being processed and the Hobby Points I'll accumulate is actually only 10% of my order cost - not 15%. Being being a member of specifically the TT:120 club doubles my points accumulation. As I'll only buy TT:120 products perhaps I should join. I'll probably be able to recoup the £30 fee for the first couple years but I'm not sure it will be worthwhile after that, depending on product releases and the costs of those. I wonder if I could retroactively add my first purchase still being processed to take advantage of the Club offer if I join tomorrow?
  7. I'm thinking of joining the TT:120 Club, which costs £30 PA and gets me 20% Hobby Points. I currently have free standard membership and get 15% Hobby Points for signing up to the contact database. How much would I have to spend every year to make up for that extra 5% and the annual £30 fee of the TT:120 Club?
