  1. https://www.coastaldcc.co.uk/products/wiring-harness/plux-adapter/ Item: 51997 I have just installed one in a new-tool Bachmann cl20. Works great!
  2. Thanks for the replies. I’ve since found the aforementioned adapters. Phew!
  3. What's the state of play with HM7000 and Plux22 interfaces? Are there plans to introduce a Plux22 version of the chips in the future? My whole setup is geared towards Bluetooth control. I really don't want to rewire my layout and invest in a DCC controller. I have a few Bachmann locos on pre-order which will all be Plux22. I don't think there's adapters available either.
  4. It's a fantastic profile. Easily one of the best available so far. Great recordings with no looping of samples. The horns are crisp, and I like that they were clearly recorded from the same session rather than pulled in from other sources. Really, great! I love the various start-up options depending on if you use the primer or cold start. The only downside is profiles like this, and that of the 67 really make the class 37 and 47 profiles sound inferior. The looping samples and poor horns really stand out. Not to mention the class 73 profile... It's my hope that there will be a future re-work to elevate all profiles to the same standard. Looping samples are the worst let-down and detract from the overall experience. Personally, it makes me less inclined to invest in multiple versions of locomotives (and therefore decoders) if the sound profile doesn't meet the high bar set by these new releases. Unfortunately, this puts two of the most numerous classes ever built at a disadvantage. Here's to hoping for a comprehensive update that brings all profiles up to par with the excellence demonstrated in these latest releases!
  5. Just registering my vote for additional Cl47 horns. Having a few unusual tones is good for variety but it would be preferable to have at least one or two more normal/healthy versions to choose from. On the subject of new profiles. The Turbomotive profile is now live. Hopefully it won't be long before the 37 profile drops, I'm itching try it out on my Accurascale 37's. I'm quite enjoying the excitement these new releases bring.
  6. It's quite funny when compared to the real thing. Almost as though they've managed to shrink the sound. Excuse the bodged and dusty test track!
  7. Thanks RAF. I will investigate. The Cl66 Darth Vader horn gets a bit much after a while. I think I'll also disable all but one of the Cl47 horns if possible.
  8. The recent Cl47 profile release is very welcome, I am little disappointed with the horn sounds however. I figure some of the recordings have come from locomotives approaching at speed, or from a distance. The Doplar effect is quite obvious on F3. Not sure where the F2 samples came from. I'm getting a sick cuckoo with a party-horn vibe. I can see that in certain circumstances, the F3 horns would work quite well (large, fast continuous loop layouts). I have a small depot layout so the aggressive, distant or novelty horns do sound rather odd when things don't get much above crawling speed. My suggestions for consideration: Properly group horn sounds between the two horn functions. F2 for bog-standard, short blasts to average length two-tones. (For starting, shunting and slow-speed layouts). F3 for the novelty, long, distant and fast approaching tones. (For showboating and scale 3,000mph passes). I think AFC control only use F2 samples? If not, I think that would also be a good idea. Replace the Cl47 horns with more typical sound samples. I fully appreciate that this is probably more complicated than I understand. The sound engineers can't possibly know the intricacies or quirks of each loco/unit they recreate. There's also the issues of obtaining quality samples, permissions, editing, deadlines and the other absent profiles which will take priority once a profile is released. To support my final suggestion, here's a link to a video I recorded which includes what I would consider an average Cl47 high-low tone. Suitable for the F2 suggestion I mention above. I must mention, I have no idea if the video above is of a suitable quality. I'm not suggesting Hornby use it. It's just a useful comparison to the samples included in the current version of the Cl47 profile. Other than that, I'm really happy my 47's don't sound like MTU HSTs anymore!
  9. Great! Thank you. I understand things much better now. It just goes to show how innovative HM7000 really is. Thanks to everyone else too, for their input.
  10. Just for clarity, I'm not in anyway criticising. I don't want to come across as if I'm negatively reviewing the product because they don't work for me fully; with a setup they weren't intended for. As RAF said, my misunderstanding is the difference between DC and DCC power supplies. I expect the similarities in acronyms and that my track is live all the time lead me down the wrong path. Just one more question. Am I right in thinking that DCC starter sets, like the NCE Powercab, Digitrax Zephyr and Bachmann Dynamis would all provide AC power to the layout bus? In the case of the aforementioned, it's not the power adapter/PSU doing this but the 'command station' taking DC and converting it to AC and then to track? Has the penny finally dropped for me?
  11. Thanks! I think you're right, just the one light is the way to go. It does seem overly complicated to have produced the buffer stops that way. Especially if DC track power is the most common and the problem can be avoided by having both LEDs wired the same way. Thanks again for the input.
  12. Thank you both for the detailed replies, I grateful for you taking the time to share your knowledge. I was naive to think that the R7337 PSU was a DCC specific supply which supplied the necessary current for both lights to work. Clearly I have a lot more to learn. Whilst I'm in the process of learning, would the solution be to simply replace the R7337 supply with an AC one or would that be too easy?
  13. I wondered if someone could please explain track polarity as far as HM7000 is concerned? I've recently purchased a couple of the now Gaugemaster (ex TrainTech) buffer stop lights. On DCC both lights should illuminate, on analogue just the one. My end to end layout uses the R7337 PSU, wired to a main bus with droppers to each track section but only one light illuminates regardless of which direction the loco is set to within the app. If I turn the lights around, the illuminated LED switches. I'm wondering if it is possible to get both illuminated... perhaps my wiring is at fault? Or is HM7000 a sort of hybrid analogue/DCC setup in which the decoder sorts all that out? Any insight would be appreciated! Cheers!
  14. Which model 37 do you have and did you set the dip switches to anything other than the instructions on the card? The reason I ask is that my 37409 does have instrument lights but no high intensity headlight, engine room or cab lights. I wonder if versions of the 37 are configured differently or have you found a way to sacrifice the instrument lights in favour of another lighting function?
  15. I have an Accurascale 37 fitted with the 21-pin HM7000 chip. It runs beautifully and the built in stay-alive and speaker work very well. I didn’t bother fitting the Hornby speaker. The class 31 profile is a good stop-gap until the 37 profile comes along. Only issue I’ve found is the lack of lighting control. You’ll get directional marker lights, tail lights you can turn on and off at each end and the gauge lights. No headlight, engine room or cab lights. I have 37409 so I can’t comment on what you get with a DRS example. It’s shame there’s no control over the headlights.
  16. I asked on another forum, apparently the headlight is inaccessible due to incompatibilities with the function mapping. I don’t have a reason to believe it’s a wiring fault. Luckily, my layout depicts a yard so moving around without the headlight is prototypical. Couldn’t be happier with the model and I really enjoy the HM7000 control system.
  17. Did you have to change the dip switches to anything other than the “non-esu” configuration? I’ve just finished installing the cl31 profile on 37409. I get directional markers and switchable tail lights but no headlights or other lights.
