  3. Is there a manual for the HM7000 decoder that goes into more detail about the setting available? What is the automatic function control and how do you set it up?
  4. Thank you both. Can I just check. All the YouTube videos if installing DCC on locos seem to say that you remove the capacity, but I believe the hornby instuctions are to leave the capacitor in. Can anybody clarify this for me please. malcolm
  5. I’m new to DCC and looking to install HM7000 on a LIMA 205132AB GWR Railcar 'No.22' or Hornby equiv. does anyone know if it is compatible and also what sound file would I use as I don’t see one listed. thanks. malcolm
  6. I have inherited an elderly Flying Scotsman Set R689. My layout is HM7000 so I want to add an 8-bit chip with sound. It is tender driven with a loco pickup. Has anybody done it, if so can you advise and what are the pitfalls please. Malcolm
  7. When setting out layout prior to DDC i would normally have an isolating section where there is a point to prevent a loco traversing a point that has not been correctly set. It seems, reading DDC suggestions that you put a clip in the point to stop it isolating. This surely removes the ability to isolate that section. I appreciate that the sidings should be powered to allow sunting etc. I would appreciate comments as to what is the best practice here. Malcolm
