  1. Hi all I've just been assembling the 20mm PSC Morris Quad 25 pounder gun set. I don't know if it's me but there seems to be a problem assembling the sides and roof! Most of the kit goes together smoothly and easily but thee always seems to be a bad fit for the roof between the body sides. I wonder if it's a problem with the design and moulding? Anybody else have this problem and any possible advice? Many thanks to you all Richard
  2. Hi all just a general inquiry. I'm currently painting and repainting some old 1/72 scale Afrika Korps panzers and trucks etc. Problem is finding the right panzer yellow to use is driving me mad! I've just tried Vallejo 916 sand yellow on a new build Sdkfz and 7 frankly it looks hideous!! Far too yellow I'm not looking for exact shades and complex weathering finishes etc, just a basic right colour I can standardise on. Vallejo is preferred but I use Revell and Tamiya as well. I look forward to your suggestions. Many thanks all. Best regards Richard
  3. Hi Ratch many thanks. I'm trying Tamiya XF 51 Khaki Drab which looks maybe a shade too dark. For some unknown reason despite much stirring it'[s not taking too well on the Carrier possibly due to my trying Airfix paints first! Thanks again Richard
  4. Hi a few interesting ideas! Personally I got into the habit of using plastic storage drawers of the DIY kind but my preference is the interlocking kind to maximise storage space - necessary as I've accumlated about 50,000 over the years! No, I confess hardly any any of them are painted I'm just a collector! You can use the small bags, foam sponge, styrofoam etc. Hope this helps. Richard
  5. Hi all well over the years I've made more Airfix Bren Carriers than I care to remember. I'm finally getting round to a few for the Far East. Any ideas which colours I should use - keep it simple please! Also, one of life's not so little mysteries is internal colours for Bren Carriers and softskins in general - painting guides never seem to show this! Any ideas and suggestions please. Best regards Richard
  6. Hi First Health & Safety warning! When I was a kid more years ago then I care to remember I simply followed the instructions - doubtless you won't find them now - and heated a small screwdriver blade in a candle flame which usually worked very well! Nowadays I use a small or medium stapler gun and they can be hidden behind track guards etc. Hope this helps, stay safe and take care whatever way you fix them. Best regards Richard
