  1. The DCC controller I have uses WiFi for the throttle.
  2. I tested out the HST with the hunt magnets, and yes much more reliable. Only able to cause decouple by starting very fast. Now Bluetooth is the issue with not every decoder discovered every time. Although once working does seem to be very reliable. Hopefully at a show with lots of people, Bluetooth continues to work ok. I have had issues with WiFi. May need DCC as a backup.
  3. Thanks, a little glue is my fall back, will try other suggestions. Planning on keeping the rake together. Making a box to carry and also making it easy to load and unload.
  4. I am building an exhibition layout. Given that track is good. What advice would you give? Need to run multiple hours without issues, or as close as I can get. so far with testing, what fails are the couplings and it does seem to be always between the same carriages. so far one issue every 30 min.
  5. Found a way of doing it. Looks like only works through locomotive settings. So a bug. Loses decoder setting.
  6. Also how do you reset the HM7000?
  7. Right, I select the profile, any one and then the install Locomotive Profile button is still disabled. Does not ask me when linking device. Which makes sense since it is factory installed.
  8. That is how it worked when I added the HM7000. This one came with one pre installed. Does not let me install profile after selecting it. Button greyed out.
  9. I just got the HST TT model with sound fitted. i get the following error One or more problems have been detected. Please reinstall a profile to fix this error. If the issue persists please contact Customer Support. when I try and browse to select the same profile again, the update button is disabled. I even tried a different profile. This is the first one I bought with sound fitted. Do not have this issues where I installed the HM7000 myself.
  10. Thanks, the other issue is the coupler just got pulled out, while running.
  11. I see a number of threads on the MK3 couplers. I have no problem connecting the coaches together. The difficulty is with the engines. With the other engines I have I can just reverse into a coach and they connect. Is there a trick to it? if I get magnetic couplers, would that help?
  12. Thanks for your replies. My concern was for space for the fishplate. Want to use the track I have left.
  13. Looking at the track I should be able to cut the rail and get two half length rails? Can add fishplates and have two TT8012's? Want to use the decoupler on them. Should this work? Also take a TT8039 and cut to get two TT8002's. Have two spare TT8039.
  14. The issue I was having is getting the screw out on the dummy one. A magnetic screwdriver would have helped if there is enough adhesion. Would have been easier if they used the same placement as the power one.
  15. You use that to glue screwdriver to the screw? At least in the States not that expensive.
  16. Thanks. I did manage to get the screws out. Used tweezers below screw head to gently push up. Will leave screws out for now. A lot of effort to remove.
  17. I was able to add a hm7000 decoder to the power cab. Struggling to remove screws from the dummy one. Can I run with one that has the decoder while the other is analog? For the power cab, I unscrewed then gently tapped on the top and they fell out. Not working for the dummy one. Suggestions for removing screws?
  18. Also sounds like a good solution. Works out about $7 per coach. Based on two strips at $10 each. I got mine on sale. Which works out at £5-£6 per coach. Only need to solder onto springs for 2 coach’s and for the third a little more. Need to join and attach wires. I like that I can adjust the light and it has a capacitor to reduce flicker. There are 8 segments on each strip. Need 5 per coach. There is still enough space for a DCC decoder. Really need electrical connection between coaches. So only need one decoder. For now lights on all the time.
  19. Tried various iterations. Found that Viessmann does have a TT coach lighting. 50505. Works great, DCC concepts has springs for the wheels. Has adjustable resister and flicker free (yet to really test this). You do need to snap of the last three to fit. Can reuse to light another coach or building. I just used pvc glue to stick the strip to the roof. https://viessmann-modell.com/en/product-range/electronics/electronics-effect/178/tt-coach-lighting-8-leds-warm-white
  20. I would suggest only lightly glueing down the track. So you could take it off at a later date. You will learn a lot by doing this and which part of the experience you enjoy most. Then you can always reuse the track and improve. Enjoy!
  21. Great, post what they say. Also interested. Also do you need to get the extra board? There are two versions of the TT one. Which is the right one?
  22. You might try one of the curved points from one of the other TT manufacturers. i equally have a tight area, where a curved point would work well. https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/tillig-83420-flexi-curved-points-kit-tt/
  23. You might find this video useful. I did. You could move the cross over one to the left. Moving the outside siding after it. Then you would have space to have the cross over in the other direction. Then add an extra curve to your outside siding.
  24. i have not tried any of the products. The digital one does look interesting. https://www.sd-modell.com/product/tt-digitalkupplung/ There is also a board to increase the output. I Think. They do offer a service to upgrade a locomotive. Could not find what voltage it takes.
