it has a microswitch that is triggered when the slot car is on a bend so it can slow down, its very simple mod alot of home users could do. the power from the controler is set on full, then the track to motor wire is diverted through the microswitch on the car then through a resistor cutting power, this enables the car to run on its own and slow at corners

wouldnt it be great to play slot cars alone aswell as with others, well i have designed a pace car system that is so easy, the slot switches a microswitch left and right , and trigers different power setups with resistors, this is like the variable trigger resistor you use but with a fixed resistance so it slows down on corners, see image attached.
