  1. Thanks for all your help guys, i have spent all day trying all of your suggestions and on the phone to hornby, i still cant get it to work. I am going to take all the decoders out and run a straight dc system and come back and try again later, rather than getting fustrated.
  2. I have got a 2 year old tablet and have been battling with the system for the last two nights and i am sick of it tbh. I have tried all the trouble shooting solutions and nothing works, my connection drops out all the time quite often i only get half way through the first whistle before the loco moves and then it disconnects and reconnects. I really want this to work but it just doesn't, would a physical controller be better/more reliable. I am really fed up
  3. I have just picked up the bits i need to do a DCC setup with a class 91 and DVT, I have got a decoder for the loco end do i need to fit one into the dvt so it doesn't get damaged or can i get away with it ?
  4. Thanks very much for all your help with this, i now have a rough idea of what i am doing!
  5. I plan on having two trains on the main tracks with the option of doing some shunting in the sidings. I have looked for the reverse loop faq but can't find it (if anyone could drop a pink if be really gratefull) also i dont really know what one is or where it is in the layout, could someone point me at it please! Thanks for all the help, im really glad i posted here before starting my build
  6. Thanks for your help the yellow is incline and the orange is raised level section. The inclines are around1650mm each and the finished height is 80mm for girder bridges
  7. Evening everyone, i have been getting back into the hobby and am having a great time. I have found some space in the loft and can fit a 12 foot board up there with room to spare. I've planned a layout on SCARM and was wonder ing i have made any glaring errors. I am intending on motorising the points to a general control board and running DCC, do I need more than one controller to boost the power or will one be enough. I an a fully qualified electrician and i have been wargaming for around ten years so my modeling and wiring will hopefully be up to muster has it listed as 62M of track, but i don't know the resistivity of the track to work out the volt drop. Any feedback is massively appreciated.
