One follow up post. Will this train run on our modern new track?

Thanks for the support Simon. Anywhere you can recommend where I can read up on these topics or get some simplified diagrams or photos, and perhaps where to get the spare parts. We are in Norway, and setting out on this Hornby adventure is not the easiest here as limited stock in the shops. I would send it off to a professional to fix but the postage cost and everything makes it not economical. Fig 1. Is this where bushes are supposed to be? Fig 2. Hi, My son and I have discovered an old train. It is missing a part and one of the wires has fallen off. Can anyone advise if it is fixable and if so, where could we find the information on where to re-solder the wire's and buy the missing spare part.
