  1. That's one solution Ratch. Or another one might be to just not lock us out from editing at all 🤔 I probably belong to 20 other various hobby and sporting forums and I don't know any other forum that locks their users out from editing their posts later on. I don't want to tell the administration how to run their site. Like I said, I'll just use a corrected re-post as a work around if I see too many pf my spelling errors in past posts. I use all iOS devices and Apple's spellcheck is the worst and so is Siri at transcribing voice to text . . . it is a joke IMO. Maybe I just should have just studied reading and writing comprehension harder in school when I was younger? And my short comings are now just coming to light since I've been posting here in this particular forum 🤣🤣🤣
  2. I have to compliment Scaley for their great customer service. I've been dealing with Tony, one of their reps for a couple of minor issues that came up. When I receive good customer service I like to pay it forward . . . I was in sales for 40 years and I've watched good customer service sadly evolve into a thing of the past. Tony has been very responsive to my emails and his call backs have been old school customer service level. How good is it when you hear any c/s rep say to you "I just want to do whatever it takes to make you happy"! Thanks Tony
  3. Andy, why is this the only forum that cuts us off from editing and correcting our spelling errors very shortly after we post. I'm not a typist, Spell check is awful and Siri puts in what Siri wants to put in! The only solution I see by not being able to edit for spelling corrections (to not look like an idiot for perpetuity) is to do a duplicate post with the corrections then a mod can delete the first post or leave them both up there!
  4. Thanks for all of your comments. This layout is my latest one since it was suggested the the Arc can't be in the middle of the pit! Pit is a little shorter, but I'm dealing with an 8 x 4 layout so everythings a trade off as I don't want the pit on the opposite side of the table.
  5. Good call. Never though of that but that was just from a first layout section. Then he changed it to the 2nd one without using the vertical short tract sections. But using no layout and just laying the pit sections on the floor and aligning the single lane sections side by side as they need to be still there was a 1/4 inch difference. Yet it's disappeared in the final layout. What is an explanation for the difference in length between the pit and the single tracks in these 3 pics? First pic is the left side, 2nd pic is the left, 2nd pic is the right side, 3rd is the whole pit section.
  6. 10:23 AM: I have a call into the tech regarding this issue but he is 3 hours earlier on the west coast as I'm in NY . . . . If I touch any of the 4 cars to the rails they all give a brief power chirp even without the controller on. Issue the Yellow Corvette still briefly chirps, but does not run. So I checked the braid and plate and all looks good. To further try and isolate the issue I swapped the chip from another car and the Yellow Corvette runs fine. So I'm leaning towards a defective chip. I just binded the yellow contoller to the blue button and put the blue car on the track and it works fine, so it looks to me like a bad chip in the yellow car.
  7. Thanks Andy, ya I caught the backwards lane changer the first lap around the track (you have a good eye). The pic I posted was just for the general design layout while fitting sections together. That is not the finished layout. The finished one spreads the pit lane apart. I did not know I could do that especially since I can run up to 6 cars (I only have 4 cars). I just took a pic of it now. The only thing that goes against the Quick start guide is I have the Arc in the middle not to either side of the pit. The forum member who sent me the layout said the only thing I lose is the lap count when the car is in the pit. What say you about that? As you can see I can't move the arc to the left. And if I go to the right I lose the needed track sections which includes the pit sensors becasue he suggested being too close to a curve before entering into the pit. First pic is the first layout. 2nd pic is final layout. Also notice the difference in those skinny track pieces until I removed the vertical skinnies on each side of the Arc. Somehow it all fit together without a gap. Standing all 9 skinny sections up on the edge of a table they are all the same size. I still never figured out if it is the skinnies that were cut incorrectly or the pit tracks or the Arc?
  8. Update: I posted this in another forum where I asked the same question: Those design apps are great. I can't understand why Scalectrix did not keep their own free design layout app going it would only serve to help them sell more track? Since I only had 8 x 4 sheet of plywood to squeeze a better layout into a very kind forum member ran my numbers of track sections through his design program and sent me a layout that would work for me accounting for a portion of the 80 sections of Sport Track I had from combining my two sets together. He came up with a layout that added 17 more sections than the oval I was running which brought my total racing surface up to 34 feet (from 20 feet). Using 44 sections of track. I'm sworn to secrecy and can't release him/her's name for fear others would burn up even more of him/her's time like I already took advantage of. I think he/her said they live deep in the jungles of the Brazilian Amazon with spotty wifi . . . So don't even attempt to find him/her . . . My lips are sealed 🫦 But here is a generalized pic of my new layout for others 8 x 4 users to check out
  9. Wow, I can really control the speeds now so my Grandchildren can't fly the cars off the track now. The Scalectric app I could not lower the speed in their app. It only seemed to limit the top end speed not the low end.
  10. ‎Magic ARC App I've downloaded it. What is the customary donation to Magic?
  11. Update 2: Scaley C/s was researching out my issue but tonight I changed my layout and the 1/4 gap is almost gone. Still when I layout the pit sections and the 3 inch wide single sections along side the pit sections on my dress without any other tracks connected the single sections are still 1/4 inch longer than the pit sections! I don’t know? Maybe this is done by design. Either way the gap there now is probably down to a 16th of an inch which is livable for me. s
  12. A search turns up a lot of outdated posts on the subject. Seems there used to be a free version of the Scalextric track layout design software, but the down load no longer opens (at least on my iOS Mac desktop). I current have my set up in an oval on an 8 x 10 on a sheet of plywood off the floor on saw horses. But I'd like some type of layout design software where I could plug in my current track sections and it would give me a layout I could use on my hardwood floor for a temporary set up. I can't see paying for a subscription for using it so little. Even the old free Scalextric software had a 50 section limit. Anything out there?
  13. OK thx LTSR, I was able to cxl that order on Amazon. I’ll keep searching for the spec you provided.
  14. I just found the same 6.3mm adapters on Ebay for $2.30 each plus $2.98 shipping from England! Some of Amazon's vendors can be such a rip offs. If "they fit" they get them back and I'll wait for the Ebay ones to arrive from overseas within 2 weeks.
  15. No edit option so I have to post again. I'll give this one a go from Amazon. Not cheap at $10 each or $21.5 for 2 with tax. If it works I can always find a cheaper ones and return these. If I had to buy them from Hornby in England the shipping costs would kill me anyway. At least with your specs I can search some electronics store on the web for two of them.
  16. Thanks 96RAF. Only a blue check mark shows up for the image though.
  17. Hi Tom. I'm new to the hobby, but I'm asorbing as much as I can as especially with their app that is not very user friendly along with being new user frustrating. I can't use the Magic App as it is not on the iOS app store in New York (says not available in my region) Every device I own is iOS. Since you have been using the Pro Arc for 4 months now I'm sure it goes without saying that you have your profiles set in the Arc App at 25% and are using the Throttle profile A (which dampens the trigger from those fast starts). The other thing that I learned from the posters . . . is the speed of the car (if I understand correctly) only works when you are "running in an event". What I found with my Digital Pro Platinum set up is if I just turn the system on and take a few laps around the track the cars are hard to control which means they are probably getting 100% power. But if I choose as example Grand Prix and set it for 5 or 10 laps the cars are more manageable which means they are running at 25% tmax power top end. I also have a full analog Scalextric Sport Track set up that is 20 years old that I picked up 2 weeks ago. But I moved up to digital as the analog was already getting boring to me. Maybe it's the older worn motors on the 9 analog cars that were included because the 4 new cars that came with the digital set are so much peppier and handle so much better. I did sand the tires on the analog cars and that made a world of difference in their handling and I was amazed how tightly they now stay on the track's curves. I'll lightly sand the 4 new digital cars tires too, but I have to wait until I'm beyond my 30 day exchange period in case any other issues come up. It really is night and day in handling after you tape a piece of 220 grit sandpaper to a track section and lightly sand one tire at a time. I'll never be a competitive racer, so tire "truing" is not a concern to me . . . but sanding does help to remove the mold release stuff that is inherently on new rubber tires (or so I've read). Paul
  18. Thanks Andy, for taking the time to outline some resolutions. A lot of good suggestions. I think 96RAF might be able to locate the adapter specs which is pobably the easiest solution.
  19. Thanks 96RAF DESCRIPTION Transformer 15VDC - 1.2A - Scalextric P9303 This is a Scalextric High-Performance Digital Transformer featuring 15V 4 amp DC. 20. Update: Scalextric c/s got back to me with a timely response: Give us a few days, we will send the short single lane track to you, I think that is the problem. expidia: it looks like the issue was the "short" single lane (they shipped the set with 9 sections of code: CC) that may have been manufactured short rather than an issue with the two pit sections.
  21. Update: today I held all the 3 inch wide pieces togther and they were all the same length. There is still a wide space as shown in this 3rd pic taken today. It's either the pit track is too short or the 3 inch wide pieces are all cut too long?
  22. Is this even possible that they manufactured the left side of this new pit track section too short. Has anyone ever experienced this? If I tighten the left side then the gap opens up on the right side. It could also be the short pieces that fill in the lane along the side of the pit track one might have been cut to long? First pic is the left side. And 2nd pic is the right side of the two pit lanes. I'll have to take some finer measurments of each of the track sections in question. This side of the set up is all a straight run after the curve.
  23. Received my replacement Scalextric Pro Platinum today. Due to my setup the Pro Arc power unit hangs slightly over the edge of my Plywood sheet. Which causes the male end of the power cord to hang straight out even farther. I’d like to order from Amazon a right angle adapter so the power plug hangs down instead of straight out where people walking by keep hitting it and it will eventually snap off. Anyone know the specs for this adapter or a link to one? Thanks I emailed Scalextric who actually manufactures this $700 Pro Platinum set with their Pro Arc unit, yet they gave me back a "useless response"! Anyone know a link to Amazon for one of these simple adapters in the correct size for the male end of the power cord? In the old days, I could have just walked into a Radio Shack with the transformer in hand and matched it up to one off their wall! Edited: Please do not post personal information (even your own) . It is in violation of the guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
