BMC 1100

Thinking about the classic Airfix MG1100 kit (1:32) I remembered that one of the smaller British one man outfits made a short run of resin bodies of some of the other BMC "ADO16" family, such as the Austin/Morris 1300GT. I also recall that Vitesse once offered variants if their 1:43 diecast model of the "1100" as various MG, Wolseley and Riley variants. It made me wonder if someone could create a new kit, say 1:24 scale, with different panel and trim for the Austin, Morris, MG, Riley, Vanden Plas and Wolseley variants? After all, the "BMC 1100" family was once Britain's best selling new car!

My brother owned one , was a sea of rust and filler , ok it kept going because the engine was sort of reliable but  the brakes were rubbish , seats were uncomfortable and in the end it was scrapped because the cills failed beyond repair .

It was the best selling car because there was little alternative  at a low price , not because it was good
