  1. For years i have used a spray can of Winsor and Newton matt varnish ,they do a satin as well , i use it on oil paintings too , it seems to produce a high quality matt finish on any paint or decal and does not need a heavy coat . it is not cheap however and needs both the can and the surface to be at least room temperature . it is designed for most art finishes , including soft pastel so works well as a fixitive on light weathering powder . my only comment is that it tones down the effect of ink washes but then most varnish coats do . i use humbrol tin varnish on figures but normally in satin , i have had frosting on matt from several suppliers but it seems a combination of cold damp weather and slow drying
  2. Having looked at lots of images the turret mounted machine gun which i think was an mg34 was not fitted much . i suppose in an urban environment the gunner would be very exposed and the mounting is not suited to AA defence . it seems the americans were the only nation who loved turret mounted guns ,the british rarely fitted them but the americans had the 50 cal ,which is way more capable than an mg34 or bren . i like the models a lot .
  3. Very impressive , looks like an oil painting . It's an interesting technique ans ideally suits period figures. Airfix should reissue some of their figures as I think there is a demand for them
  4. its a good looking model , captures the bulk and menace of the original , if i was facing that in a sherman i would be seriously worried .
