45568
Asking for alternative liveries of these, for the FO, BR(SR) green without the yellow stripe would be an obvious candidate. These coaches formed many of the Ocean Liner expresses run by the shipping companies from Waterloo to Southampton Docks in the 1950-60s. (Cunarder, United States Lines, Union Castle etc.), all ideal to be hauled by your N15, BB/WC, original and rebuilt, and even MN classes. A Pullman car or two was often included for catering purposes, Van(s) B for luggage. Hornby make them al!!Cheers from Oz,Peter C.
Postman Prat
Hi Peter In the period of 1963-67 the 'Merchants' were not as common on Boat Trains as Light Pacifics and Standard 5s. One suggestion is that the line concerned might be upset if they found a loco with a competitors name at the front.
LCDR
The obsession with the yellow stripe has been a real nuisance to me. My modelling aspirations are the mid to late 1950s before the stripes were introduced. No BR livery 2Hals have yet been issued with out the stripe, nor for that matter with the early emblem. This has required every one to visit my paint shop. A real pain!
