Life hacks: track geometry

A place to post any facts relating to track geometry that help you to make tracks work.

For example:

The straight on a crossover plus a half striaght = long straight

Adjacent corners of crossovers are equivalent distances to 90 degree R2s, also meaning that two 90 degree R2s starting at a given point in a given direction and turning away from each other end alongside at the same points as a long straight.

Cut a 22.5 R1 into 2 single lane pieces and a 78mm short straight into 2 single lane pieces.

R1 inside right > S 1lane > R2 outside left  covers the same length as a 1/2 straight - An easy way to separate the pitlane from the track in minimal space.
