  1. I cancelled my pre-order of the twin pack for this very reason
  2. An analogue crossover will trip the ARC Pro powerbase, apparently. Read the thread I linked to
  3. I don't have ARC Pro so am only passing on what I have heard. The way power is delivered to the track in digital is no longer as though the track was one big lane but is powered as two seperate lanes, the analogue way, even in digital. This means that it is impossible to have sections of single lane (where the 2 lanes merge into a single lane) and the CLC, even modded won't work as the mod picks up power from both lanes (left rail left lane, right rail right lane)......it's a phasing issue One analogue crossover in the circuit would make the layout one big single lane - what happens to your "phasing" then? Please post the source of your statement because at the moment I am not the least bit convinced. http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=165866&p=1951906

  5. THIs new ARC pro seems to be designed in a way that seriously limits imaginative track design. What are they thinking? Or are they not thinking? It's like they've forgotten how to make Scalextric interesting. It's like they've regressed mentally and haven't thought about the way the product they're offering will play....has personnel changed in the design department? Have they sacked the brains and kept the monkeys? I, for one, see nothing to entice me to 'upgrade'.
  6. This mod will NOT work on ARC Pro ARC Pro has changed the way the powerbase delivers its power to the rails.
  7. Happy to be of service. :)
  8. When scalextric introduced the CLC their digital powerbase couldn't run in analogue mode. They never expected people who put lane change functionalitiy in their track to want to run analogue, so they didn't bother isolating the lanes on the lane changers. Years later they released a digital powerbase that could be switched to analogue. This meant the CLC caused short circuit problems. Rather than changing the manufacture of the CLC they dropped the section from their range.
  9. Yes - they'll then work in both Digital and Analogue. Be sure to snip in EXACTLY the right places You are eliminating a circuit between the 2 running lanes but still keep power to the Xover lane with 1rail connected to 1 lane and 1 rail connected to the other rail of the other lane. This isolates each lane from each other (for analogue) but still keeps power to the crossover for digital use. So before you snip be sure to check where you snip will give you that result. Good luck!
  10. It's only 2 snips - 1 where the scissors are and one bottom right that's already been done. You want a better pic? How much clearer can it be? Re APB switch on They all start with choice of Basic or Pro but switch it off in Analog and it will stay in analog until you switch it back to digital. Basic v Pro is NOT analog v digital
  11. After further research it is apparent that some C7042 APB have faukty relays that cause it to go SAFE with unmodified CLCs in the track in any mode. I have posted a picture of how to modify the CLC (corner lane change) to get around this problem. It's awaiting moderator approval.
  12. NO! If you switch C7042 off in analogue it stays in analogue even when turned back on. The only way to turn it back to digital is in the Platform menu
  13. That behaviour is what I would expect if the C7042 is in ANALOGUE mode....but if it is in DIGITAL mode then it's a mystery!
  14. Try the CLC to analogue mod See pic - ONLY CUT IN THE EXACT 2 PLACES SHOWN Admin edit: Please ensure you have permission when posting other people's images.
  15. So you're 100% sure the C7042 is in DIGITAL mode? Have you checked the Platform menu just to be sure? Strange
  16. if you want to use the track with corner lane changers in ANALOGUE mode (ie running analogue cars - they'd be non-functioning lane changers) then you have to open them up and cut the copper tape in the 2 correct places to stop the 2 lanes being bridged. The corner lane changers should work with no issues in DIGITAL mode. If I want to run analogue I remove my corner lane change and replace with 2 R2 curves - just to be sure.
  17. I suspect it's stuck in analogue mode. If you take the lane changers out of the track and switch on the C7042, does it go into SAFE mode then? If not then navigate the menu to the Platform menu and check it is in Digital and not Analogue mode. If it goes to SAFE mode without lane changers then check for shorts between the rails on your track - I had it the other day due to a frayed braid shorting the rails
  18. Are you sure you're in digital mode? If you are in analogue mode the corner lane changers bridge the lanes and overload the C7042
  19. Oh and one I forgot: Ferrari 250LM - my all time fave shape
