I'm just wondering HOW Scalextric got the roof and side window shapes on the E Type Jaguar so horribly wrong? I would have bough a good few of these cars to repaint and re-decal as other cars but the model is really not good. The Carrera and Revell models are SO far better. A real shame.

I'm certainly NOT complaining! The Jaguar 420 is back...!!! Already ordered.

Not a large number of new items for -21 but given the state of the year'20 it's understandable. However - the Jaguar 420 is BACK! Already pre-ordered. Looking forward to getting it later this year.

Many thanks for the reply, and thanks for the offer of pics/info. However, I was contemplating buying the double car special E Type set and I don't want to mess it about.There were reasons no doubt why they designed to model as they have, but it cuts me out of the buyers.I don't want to have to faff about fiddling with a model to get it to work. A real shame as the two cars on my 'most wanted' list are the E Type and D Type Jaguars. Sadly, I can run neither so won't be buying them.

I'm a newbie to this and have a digital setup. I love the nrw E Types and fancy getting one or two but can't see anywhere that says they are DPP ready. Anybody know?

Sadly, all of my recent kits have NOT been Airfix.Actually, for the last few years. I'm a car modeller and at present there's nothing new or interesting from this end of the modelling world. The Quick build 'Lego' stuff is zero interest. PLEASE - Airfix. some new model cars...

I hope Airfix do this one. The current kit REALLY needs updating. Surely they must realise that there's NOBODY currently making a decent kit of this motoring landmark?

I see Scalextric have just announced a brand new tooling of the E Type for 2017. I wonder - is there any hope it might pop up as an Airfix kit too? After all, the Aston DBR9 and Jaguar XKR turned up as kits about 6 months after the Scaley cars... I sincerely hope so.

As we're on the big old Bentley, here's mine from about 4 years ago. I did go potty with a few extra details such as fuel tank stone guards and real fabric body and hood. I also made a mesh rad grille and cord-bound the springs. I keep contemplating making some 'proper' wire wheels for it - maybe one day. Roy. A great little kit. PLEASE - re-do it. There are loads of the '70's cars that Airfix made, that I'd love to see again. Any chance?
