  1. @DatHornbyThomasGuy, not bad. No Thomas rolling stock in your collection? NWR-Gordon-4
  2. I am unsure why Hornby cancelled the figure. There could be multiple reasons. I very much doubt the answer will ever be found. NWR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  3. DatHornbyThomasGuy, welcome to the Hornby Forum. slightly_smiling_face That is a good question and I am sure this question has been asked in the past. Many sellers particularly on eBay get these two muddled up, but the only difference between the two models are the faces. R9066 Bert - Closed mouth R9067 ‘Arry - Open mouth I agree that Hornby ‘Arry’s and Hornby Bert’s faces look like Splatter‘s and Dodge’s and faces. I am not aware that Hornby were due to release these two. It would have surprised me if Hornby had, as they only appeared in the TV series once in the Thomas and the Magic Railroad film. 4. @Going Spare Thank you for that. I am unsure why M-R is talking about that in this topic, as that was a 2020 release. No matter though. 😀 GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  5. Back in the 1980s, on the rear of some of 'The World of Thomas the Tank Engine' branded boxes, it mentions 'R.245 Fat Controller, Driver and Fireman'. However, this was cancelled and never released. With so many laws on toys being safe for children, I very much doubt there will ever be a 1:76 scale figure released. The Bachmann Trains version is the best, but that appears to be a better scale match to the G gauge range. This figure along with the Conductor figure, are very similar to the ERTL releases, but made of plastic instead of diecast metal. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  6. @Margate-Richmond Is that R60051 LMS, Refrigerator Van you talking about, by any chance? @Going Spare Which model was that then? I was not aware of a model having an error with it's prototype image, in the 2020 catalogue. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  7. So this morning (Wednesday 06/01/2021), I was able to visit the Hornby website to view the 2021 range. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of models that I am interested in, which is disappointing for my wallet! 😆 😉 😀 Here are my highlights from this year's range: R1276M Summertime Train Set - I'm glad to see a second Hornby Coca-Cola train set. I am not to sure if I will buy the complete train set. An 0-4-0 locomotive is supplied that I do not like. Not sure if this will be added to my collection, but the rolling stock will be! I am sure an eBay seller will split this train set up when it arrives in stock. The flatbed containing the short Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Cherry Coke containers and Diet Coke LWB Tanker I really like. I am glad to see other brands of The Coca-Cola Company being used, other than Coca-Cola. R3955 Coca-Cola, 0-4-0T Steam Engine - I am glad to see Hornby are expanding the Coca-Cola range, but I am not keen on these 0-4-0T locomotives much. Therefore, I haven't decided if I will buy this or not yet. R8160 Hornby 2021 Catalogue - The yearly classic that I buy one of each year, without fail! I will have to wait a number of weeks before I can purchase a copy, due to lockdown. R30050 BR, Bagnall 0-4-0DH, 01426 - I do really like these little Bagnall Shunters. If I remember correctly, in 2019 Hornby released one of these in the BR Green livery, which I own. It will be great to pick up this BR Blue livery one up as well and have one in each livery. I imagine this R30050 release will be a Hornby RailRoad model? R60012 Coca-Cola, Small Tank Wagon - I really like the look of this tanker and will be picking up at least one of them. It is a bit pricey for such an old tooling. That is inflation and licensing for you though. R60013 Coca-Cola, Refrigerator Van - I really like the look of this van and will be picking up at least one of them. Again, it is very pricey for such an old tooling. That is inflation and licensing for you though. R60016 Hornby 2021 Wagon - Another yearly classic that I buy one of each year, without fail! The trouble is that in the past five years, this is the third hopper wagon, which isn't a great selection of different wagons really. I also noticed that the image is the same as used for the R6880 Hornby 2018 Wagon, which are both HEA hopper wagons. Everything about the wagons are same, apart from the different year decals on the sides. Despite this, I will be picking the 2021 wagon up and I probably will pre-order it.I hope everyone is staying safe. 😀 GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  8. Both have different faces. R9053 Troublesome No.1 has the open eyes rectangular shaped face. R9054 Troubesome Trucks No.2 has the closed eyes square shaped face. If you see different on Google images, then the have been muddled up. I guess there are high chances of that happening, considering the diffenece between the two are the faces! The same two Troublesome Trucks are included in the 2015 and 2016 made R9294 Troublesome Trucks, with slight differences. The faces have a yellow hint and the grey paintwork is slightly lighter. 9. I haven't seen this video. Thank you for the heads up, Jimyjames. I will check it out soon! 😉 😀 GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  10. Correct, the lamp irons are where the lamps are held, front and rear. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  11. Jimyjames, they are called lamp irons, not nails. R852 James' (The left two in new lad on block's fourth image down, that was posted on the 21/01/2018), had lamp irons too, but they came in a packet to fit yourself. The 2015 and 2016 made R9290 James the Red Engine had them pre-fitted in the factory, but glued in. The lamp irons were also glued in and factory fitted, on the 2015 and 2016 made R9289 Edward and R9291 Gordon the Blue Engine. As for your James locomotive appearing in your images, he likes to be centre of attention all the time; That is James' character. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  12. jarrod_bezzina, welcome to the Hornby Forum. 😀 I know your post was aimed at new lad on block, but I would say it is worth repairing the damage to your James locomotive. Personally, I would not purchase a locomotive with damages such as this, or with obvious repair from the past. GNR-Gordon-4 (HF)
  13. Yeah I agree, most forums do have a private messaging facility. I don't this forum is "low-rung", so to speak. I believe the main reason that there is no private messaging facility on any of the Hornby Hobbies' forums is to help protect the users, rather than having forums with all the luxury extras. GNR-Gordon-4 (AF)
  14. T2B, I think what dogsbody means by the word "sad", is that there is no private messaging facility on this forum. GNR-Gordon-4 (AF)
