Kevin Hodges
Hi Devyn, The most recent Hornby Trackmat plan is pretty decent. Look for the TrakMat R8217. I think it's close to a 6' x 4'. Maybe a tad shy of 6ft, but you could easily extend (or shorten) it to suit. You can find a detailed overview of it here; https://www.hornby.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Guide-to-Getting-Started-with-Track-Extension-Packs-Dec-16.pdf Good luck, Kev :)
Chrissaf
Kevin, that link returns a 404 page not found error..Here is a corrected link:https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/track-extension-pack-guide/?p=1.DevynNote that clicking the download link on the page that opens above, may (subject to how you have set up your browser) download the PDF in the background. If nothing appears to happen, then check the contents of your nominated download folder.
JJ73
Or if you can get your hands on the Hornby Plans Book Edition 14 - there might be some ideas in that to inspire you!!!
GeoFF03
This is the 6x4 track plan that I use, adapted from one of the Hornby track mats. Hornby track with some half lenght Peco straights.Uses 1st, 2nd & 3rd radius curves, and while 1st is generally not recommended most of my loco stock seem to manage it OK./media/tinymce_upload/fbd0720db20bcebf81baff1047646e4c.jpg
atom3624
I would think first, before considering 1st radius curves. Most locomotives (barely) accept 2nd radius and above. Al.
