Analogue controller - trigger return spring

Hi

Need help please :-)

Have a basic set with the two analogue controllers (with the red and blue triggers) where the wiper arm attached to the trigger "wipes" along the resistor coil thingy (technical term !) to give speed control.

One of them suddenly stopped working (confirmed by swapping around with other controller on both halves of track) so I opened it up to see what it may be

Nothing obvious found but the trigger return spring decided to make a bid for freedom

I found it and can see (presumably) where one end hooks over the post on the side of the trigger, but am at a loss as to where the other end goes

Does anyone have a picture of the internals where they could show it?

Thought about that, but if the spring pings off in the same way then I have two unusable controllers and one very unhapy 4 year old :-)

Just though that someone must have opened one at some time and could explain either verbally or with a picture where both ends of the sping attach

I am not too sure to be honest but maybe google has something?

Maybe post some pictures and we might be able to guess.

Spark Plug will be out soon and you can use that as a controller.

There is this picture here: https://www.slotforum.com/forums/uploads/1413895564/gallery_2150_1849_40570.jpg - I am presuming this is the controller you have? If it isn't, do link to a picture of the version you do have.

 

One end of the spring attaches to the small hook on the red trigger just above the pivot and the other to the lug on the handle just to the left of the bottom left edge of the red trigger assembly. Does that make sense?

 

Personally, I am not a big fan of these little controllers. The latest version - https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/shop/power-controllers/controllers/analogue-hand-controller.html - is a vast improvement, in my opinion, and well worth upgrading.
