Bogrotter
I have just bought a used Subaru Police Car. It has a fault in that it needs a nudge to start it off & doesn't seem to run very fast + the controller gets hot. I'm suspecting the motor. I've stripped it to ensure it isn't being fouled by anything - just the usual fluff etc. As it's fitted with flashing lights + siren, does it use the standard motor or is there a difference? Thanks
Andy P.
Hi There,Is it this car?https://www.scalextric.com/servicesheets/index/download/id/285/If so it uses a standard motor in the sidewinder configuration. The motor may need a tiny drop of oil on the pinion shaft and your braids may need renewing. Also check for any obivous problems in the wiring. That should solve 90% of your "slow to start" problem. Bogrotter
Many thanks for your advice,.Braids look ok (but will change them anyway) have checked & lubed the motor + although 1 wire from the braids was trapped under a screw, it's still passing power. When the car runs after a push, motor sounds ok & lights & siren both work. Will have a look on the site you suggest.Regards
