DCC and Live steam?

Epicrail Class 47

It should be no problem at all as long as you realise the amount of LS oil on track may affect the DCC signal and probably destroy any traction tyres your locos may have. Just do not try putting a LS model on DCC track as the current requirements will likely kill something.

Same methods as for general track gunge I suppose, IPA is my solvent of choice for track cleaning. LS users would be able to tell you if and what they use.

It may be that LS oil is conductive so a wipe with a clean cloth may be enough. Auto-transmission oil was once seen as a track conditioner as it is apparently conductive. It would still probably ruin traction tyres depending upon what they are made of.

The old aircraft seals rule (from fading memory) used to be natural rubber for vegetable oils and synthetic rubber for mineral oils. Goodness knows what things are made from these days and where the oil comes from as it seems every make and model of car has its own individual oil spec when you browse Halfords shelves.
