Wouldn't it be fabulous if we ship modellers who are interested in converting basic models could get Airfix to re-release more of its Airfix 600th scale warships. For example, Scharnhorst.into her sister ship, Gneisenau; Moskva which we could modify to operate Yak--38 VTOL; Devonshire so that we could scratch build a helicopter deck and hangar to represent one of the Chilean naval acquisitions; Suffolk, leander, etc.That way we could buy two and get busy converting - Airfix warships definitely lend themselves to modellers who want something a little different.. With a Leander I could build type 12's, Australian River class batch 1/2 and 3, not to mention Ikara Leander etc....With HMS Ajax I could build a modified Leander class cruiser, or Dido class.With Rommel I could build Aussie DDGs.
