When I got this years Loco today (21/05) I've noticed that is is the same Loco as the 2018 & the 2013 Loco but in a different Livery

2013 Loco = Southern Green livery

2018 Loco = GWR Green Livery

Come on Hornby - would be nice if you gave us a 0-6-0 Loco for a change for next year!!!

Dead simple to install a decoder in an 0-4-0 you know, exactly the same as an 0-6-0?  Remove the lid, disconnect everything from the motor and discard any and all components attached.  Now connect pickup wire from one side to decoder red, the other side to decoder black, then connect decoder's orange and grey to the motor connections.  Test then put the lid back.  QED.

If the loco came in 2013, 2018 and now 2020, what's the problem? Your title makes it seem like Hornby are giving you the same loco and same livery every year for the last decade. Last year the club loco was a Bagnall shunter in a nice but fictional Network Rail livery.

The problem with an 0-6-0 is that all of Hornby's 0-6-0 locos are actually based on real locos that carried real liveries. Their 0-6-0s are moreoreless dimentionally accurate.

Hornby's 0-4-0s though based on sometheing that did exist at one time, they are NOT dimensionally accurate and most if not all are based on one offs and/or small classes. It's easier to apply fictional liveries to fictional models. The 0-6-0s can be used to make models based on a number of real locos.
