New motor for Thomas

Hi All,

I bought a Hornby Thomas off eBay a few days ago, started running it in and the motor burnt out. After a bit of digging the Thomas I bought is R9067 and requires a type 7 X8202 motor. The question I have is Pete's Spares and various other model railway spares shops don't seem to have them in stock, is there a surrogate motor I can use Instead?

Scroll down past X8202 to X8259 which is likely to fit but will require the worm swapping over. Worth a punt for the price although silly postage more or less double the cost.

Lendons of Cardiff (lendonsmodelshop.co.uk) has X8809 which is the motor assembly in its plastic carrier with pick-ups, etc.

If you look on that link I gave earlier the same page lists the variants of X8909 and tells of their differences, however all variants are out of stock, but at least you will see what you are looking for on other sites.

The Hornby website has them. They are £2.99 plus post and packing. For some reason a search on X8809DM gives an error, so search on X8809. It comes with motor pickups and DCC connector just remove the motor if that is all you want, it is still cheaper than anywhere else. If not Lendons have the just the motor.
