Tgola22
We bought a Start Formula Classic a few months ago, thinking it used the standard scalextric track. It doesn't seem to however. Is there a way of extending the track in this set - what do we need to get if so?
Andy P.
The "Start" series has been restarted recently and those connectors are the same as the the standard Sport track. The only difference is the surface and the material is harder. If you got the older Start set that was discontinued I think back in 2008 or 2010 you need to get the adapter pieces C8525.These are readily available online but can be a little expensive. With some patience you might be able to get them fairly cheaply though. The other options are picking up more Legacy Start track which is fairly common online. The only downside here is there is only 1 curve radius and 1 track length. One other alternative is make your own converters by cutting track up. The slot width (i.e. the space between the slots) is the same. The main difference is that the metal rails are slightly farther apart on Legacy Sport.Ideally you would solder wires across the cut to ensure connectivity.
