Dr_P
Hi all,Been reading the forums for a while appreaciating the wide array of useful information and thought it prudent to sign up.My sons Henry as lost the connecting rod bolt from the middle wheel (RHS). I've been in contact with Hornby and they don't have the part available! The connecting rod set is X8047 but I cannot find it anywhere. I purchased three trains (Gordon, Henry and Edward) in September 2018 and he recieved Henry it for Xmas 2019. It has had hardly any use and I have been, from time to time, nipping up the bolts as we had a similar problem with Gordon (who he had the xmas before). Hornby repaired Gordon for us (replaced the bolt) but they have effectively fobbed me off with and email stating they don't have any parts for the Thomas Tank range... Do any of you have any suggestions? I've searced for the part number but to no avail. Are any of you in a simialr boat? I can't see how Hornby themselves cannot get hold of parts, surely that bolt is used on a range of models???Does this now mean the £80 train that my son loves is destined to live on a shelf, unusable?? walkingthedog
It is part X8407 not X8047 Peters Spares appears to have them.

Dr_P
Still haven't found a pack of these anywhere. Any further suggestions? My son is distraught.
Chrissaf
Why not check out this webpage and see if any of the bolts shown match your missing one.https://www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/hornby_spares_screws.htm All screws listed as 'out of stock' but it might give you an alternative Hornby stock code part number to search for. Going Spare
I would suggest you also phone Peters Spares again, explain the situation and ask them whether the valvegear screw in pack X9093 is the same as the one in X8407 that you really need or whether they have any other suggestions. The applications of the valvegear screws in packs X8407 and X9093 are, I think, the same, having to pass through the same number of rods and spacers, and they have X9093 in stock. Apologies if it turns out to be a blind alley but to me it is worth a try.
