Andy P.
There is always a certain amount of "wiggle room" when it comes to scales.Part of it is simply down too the cars look better when inaccurate (window pillars are always too big for example), usually is more for practical reasons trying to fit a motor, wires and gears inside (bumps in the body of the rear of an F1 car).I have a 1/32 TR7/8 from George Turner and it is indeed a tiny bit smaller than the old Scalextric model.I also have a sctratchbuilt 1/24 scale TR7 and it is indeed larger....I would trust your own calculations.Mass produced models are toys first, models second so some inaccuracy is par for the course..
