Arc Air Power Overload on 1 track only

Hi there,

I recently purchased a Speed Hunters set for my nephew and another family member purchased the Arc Air upgrade to go with it.

I set the Arc Air up and immediately got a power overload error come up.

Since the first set up I have done the following and narrowed it down to one track (track 2) but cannot overcome the issue.

The precise issue is that the car powers up and works as it should on track 1. However, as soon as I pull the trigger on the controller for track 2 a power overload error pops up. This happens whether there is a car on the track or not. I simply cannot use a car on track 2.

Can someone please advise if I have missed anything?

Solutions tried:

  • I have upgraded the firmware in the Arc Air system
  • I have calibrated both cars - it has only allowed me to calibrate cars on track 1 though - not sure if this is normal
  • Both cars work on track 1
  • I have paired both controllers (at different times) to track 1 and both controllers work on track 1.
  • I have checked the entire track for shorts and nothing is found
  • I have removed all parts of the track so power base is the only part of the track receiving power. Again track 1 works. Track 2 immediately trips a power overload.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards,

Hi T-Roy,

That is most frustrating... You can carefully open up the powerbase and check if there are any loose wires. It is only held by 4-6 small screws that can be easily replaced and not void the warranty.

If you are electrically savvy you can maybe fix it if there is a problem there.

Otherwise it looks like you got a bad unit.

Contact where you purchased it or contact Scalextric Customer Services for help..
