Garf1707822623
This may have been asked before, Im looking to resurrect my 60/70s Scalextric for the grandkids (and me!). Im aware that I need the converter track and was thinking of using the Standard Power Base C8545 but Im not sure which hand controllers to use? I dont think I want anything too techincal at this stage. Any suggestions please. Thanks Garf
Andy P.
Hi,Old track will likely need a lot of work to get the cars to run smoothly:https://support.scalextric.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360016220179-Scalextric-Track-MaintenanceOld track also has a shallower slot so newer cars may need their guide blades shaved 1-3 mm for them to work. The C8545 is the current standard powerbase and can be used with the current standard controllers:https://uk.scalextric.com/products/adjustable-analogue-hand-throttle-c8440ORSpark Plug:https://uk.scalextric.com/products/spark-plug-wireless-dongle-c8333If you want something that offers a more realistic racing experience I would go with ARC AIR:https://uk.scalextric.com/products/arc-air-accessory-pack-c8434This is basically the best, most realistic analog powerbase available by any manufacturer. It has wireless controllers as well but might not be as much fun as Spark Plug for the young ones...
