Jack1000
Hi thereWe’ve got arc air app race control four years ago. Model SSA-00185.it says 15v and 1.2A DC.I need to replace the transformer and I got one off Amazon for £19 which did say that it was the P9200, which looked like the right one. But it didn’t work. So I returned it. Can someone tell me exactly which replacement plug/transformer I need to get and whether there is any chance of not paying Scalectrix top price. Or do I need to bite the bullet and if so which catalogue number? Many thanks for this.jack and Tom and iss melon
Andy P.
Well in theory if you can find the same jack form and output in amps and voltage any power supply will work. You could use an ARC PRO power supply. It will provide more power as well.Otherwise I think if you use the official Scalextric article number and you shop around you can find a good replacement.. In the end I’m happy to buy Scalextric article number but the truth is I couldn’t find it in the catalogue i.e. just the cable as opposed to the piece of track and connecting box as well. Do they sell the cable/transformer on its own ? What is the article number? Or the article number of the ARC PRO power supply? Many thanks
Andy P.
You might want to contact Customer Services at the right as they may be able to replace the faulty unit...
Jack1000
Ok thanks. Apologies. I am confused. Yes I understand that I could contact customer services to say it was faulty. Although actually I don’t think that’s the way, because it was out of guarantee and the cable is actually broken.really what I’d like to know is can I buy the plug and cable on its own? Then I’d be spending no more than 20 quid. When I’m looking at the official shop here it says the entire arc air thing - C8434 - costs £114. I’m trying to avoid that because I know it is just the cable that is broken. So I’m running around on the Internet trying to buy the right cable and I don’t know which one to buy or it is out of stock. Will Scalextric not sell me just the cable on its own or if it will, please tell me the product number. Online I think it turned out that the P9200 was the wrong one but P9600 is the right one but I can’t find it.Thanks very much
Andy P.
Breaking things up like that is only common on online auctions and at swap meets.Going through the effort of finding the product, taking out the cable, packaging, pricing and sending is just not worth it to most bigger companies.Customer support has been helpful in the past. The worst they can say is No....
Phil_the_Fast
What is the specification of the plug that goes into the ARC Air power base.Anyone know. Some of these can look very close. But still no cigar.Slightly smaller/bigger outside/inside dimensions.
