Rusty film on track

Hi All

Just joined the forum , as totally new to scalextric.

Have just clean a lot of track , removed the old dirt etc , and rust stains.

I no have an issue, of acrust film appearing on the cleaned track.

Any help please.

Please give the search function a try and get back to us if you have any further questions.

If the rust is reappearing after you have cleaned it you need to protect it with something.

Inox is most common (available from slot car dealers). I have used automatic transmission fluid with Dextron (other rust inhibitors are available) on a track that only gets used maybe every 2-3 years. Finally Ballistol is also very common...

Apply some with a lint free cloth and allow to dry before storing. Reapply before use...
