Humbrol Paint brushes

Is anybody else having problems with humbrol paint brushes?

Brand new brushes, although pre cleaned, rinsed and shaken seem to shed hairs like there is no tomorrow.

I end up with more things with hair on than there is in Chessington zoo

I use the flats and the detail brushes, never had a problem with them.

I'm talking about the large size 4-5 brushes to cover large areas

For detail brushes I find that the 4 for £2 brushes from the Works are the best.

Just resent paying out for so called quality brushes and have to spend time checking and double checking what I have painted for loose hairs,

missing a couple, remiving them with a scalpel, rubbing down and repainting

Before anybody asks, I do have an airbrush but find that by the time you mix the paint, mask everything up, spray the paint on, clean up the airbrush and de mask the model it is quicker to paint with a brush

I find the Humbrol brushes in the Airfix starter kits are reasonable enough for the price, though they are typically only a size 2, and if you want to cover larger areas, obviously you would need larger sizes or a flat

You can, of course, pay a lot of money for top class brushes, but this supplier has good quality brushes at reasonable prices

Although described as seconds, I have hardly found any faults
