Is this a good move or should I have gone full scale? I’ve read a few reviews of the micro track that say the cars just go round and no skill involved at all. Is that true? Ok the other hand I don’t want him to be frustrated by full size set and also we don’t have loads of space. I was looking at Ginetta racers if we did go full size. Posted December 5, 2022 Share Posted December 5, 2022 The Micro scale is fine for youngsters but the amount of track and accessories are limited.Hornby changed the track system a few years back so sometimes the track is not compatible.I did a review of some options here:https://uk.scalextric.com/community/forum/second-hand-starter-set-333356?ccm_paging_p=1#end-of-repliesI would say for any kid 7 or over a "full size" set up is fine and probably makes more sense in the long run.It depends on how much space you have and how much interest he shows...
