Enamels are easier to work with in terms of they don't dry as quick, probably give you a better finish and are harder wearing but on the negative side they are less environmentally friendly, involve having to use white spirit and take a lot longer to dry so a much longer delay time between coats. Also manufacturers seem to be moving away from enamels now so the product range is getting smaller where as years ago it would have been the other way around. Ratch Posted May 19, 2023 Share Posted May 19, 2023 Try both and see what you prefer.I switched to acrylics a few years ago because SWMBO didn't like the smell when I sprayed enamels.
