Fifo Posted May 24, 2023 Share Posted May 24, 2023 Hello, i've recently gotten a hornby Bill, at first he worked fine but then he just stopped moving. His motor works fine but the wheels are sorta like "free rollers", Ive taken it apart but i don't know what to do. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Going Spare Posted May 24, 2023 Share Posted May 24, 2023 You need to establish why the motor is no longer connected to the wheels. Is the motor held correctly in place by its retainers? Is the gearset still in place between the worm on the motor shaft and the gear on the axle? Has the gear on the axle broken so that it no longer grips the axle? Are the worm or any of the gears worn so that they no longer mesh correctly? Is the plastic chassis bottom plate secure so the wheelsets are held in the correct position?
