John-359739
Hi,I've just returned to modelling after a 50 year break. I've just bought the latest 5 kit Aircraft bundle for £75.00 - I've saved about £50 on what Airfix are selling the individual kits for online and I'm looking forward to getting started. For those who want to know what was in my bundle the kit numbers are as follows :A02108A04062A04104A05136A50185I think it's a decent variety and I'm happy with it so no naysayers please. I now need to sort out paint for these kits and I was wondering if anyone had bought the 30 pot acrylic paint bundle? On the website there only seems a very small selection of "paint pots" while they have a full range of dropper bottles. Can anyone tell me if the 30 pot bundle contains pots not shown on the website or are they all supplied from that restricted selection? I need as it turns out around 30 different colours for the models I received so it will be fairly expensive to buy 30 individual pots - I know the bundles are randomly selected but I would hope Airfix would put primarily popular pots in the bundle. I will be using a brush as I want to get used to building again before I fork out on airbrush kits etc. Thanks for any help you can provide. Ratch
The acrylic paints come in the dropper bottles. The pots are enamel, which appear to be phasing out.
John-359739
Hi Ratch, they are still advertising what appears to be a limited selection of acrylic pots and a 30 pot acrylic mystery bundle hence my question.
Topcat_Ern
I bought the 50 pot version and it was predominately the screw top pots with a few of the dropper bottles thrown in. There were also a few duplicates eg fluorescent orange included. Can't specifically remember all colours in the collection but would say they are okay for adding to your existing oft used colours in a stash. The most often used by me of the 50 are the metallics that were included at that time. If you pardon the pun, you take pot luck on what's hanging about in the warehouse I suspect. Ratch
Hi Ratch, they are still advertising what appears to be a limited selection of acrylic pots and a 30 pot acrylic mystery bundle hence my question. All pots are being replaced by the acrylic Dropper Bottles. There are 150+ listed in the shop.
