Alexander-366805
Whats the difference between poly cement and liquid cement and which should i choose for aircraft?
Topcat_Ern
I use both on a project. Cement where a longer cure time may be needed, so things can be arranged easier once cemented then left to cure. But joining fuselage etc then liquid is best as the parts can be held together and the brush lightly applied to the join and the liquid is drawn in by capillary action. The Humbrol liquid poly brush is a bit large is the only caveat. Most folks will use Tamiya Extra Thin, and I prefer the Revell Professional Contacta for a cement. Neither would I use on Canopies, there are adhesives on the market that won't fog them but neither will PVA.Andy
Ratch
Poly cement is a bit thicker than liquid cement. Both have their uses. The tube glue that comes in Starter Sets can be used on thick joints. Precision Poly is good for more precise application and Liquid Cement can be used to fix joints that have not properly welded by using capillary action. Alexander-366805
Alright ill get both, what size cement would you recommend for 2 models, let me know if you want to know what they are (in addition to precision poly)?
Ratch
Glue will last you months (and many models). We all develop our own preferences by trying them. Whatever you get won't be wasted - if you carry on building.
