Class 800 GWR Loco Pair

I have the GWR livery class 800 loco set. I just installed the Loksound v5 decoders.

I have been running the motor unit for some while using a DCCConcepts decoder without problems (and without sound).

Yesterday the new install ran with all three headlamps working.

This morning when I ran the loco the top headlamp was no longer on when the forward white LEDs were lit.

When I ran the non motor unit attached to the motor unit the top light also did'nt come on.

I removed the top on both units and tested the top LED. It works on both via the spring contact. However when I re-assemble the coaches the light does not work.

I assume the three forward LEDs are hard wired together. Is that so?

If not what function activates the top light?

It may be that the loco requires a specific multi-function decoder to work, or that you simply need to select additional Aux functions for your specific decoder.

The answer to all those questions should be in the maintenance sheet that came with the locos and the data sheet for the decoders.
