new plastic

Hi , I have just taken delivery of the new 1/72 Messerschmitt Me410A-1/U2 & U4

and have just gone through the box to check the sprues and bits and pieces, is it my imagination or have Airfix started using a new plastic in the production of their

kits. seems softer and more malleable than what I'm used to, seems more like the

poly plastic they make their figures from, is this the way forward ?

If anyone has an answer to this I'd love to know

P.S. Having said that it is a lovely looking kit and tooling that I am looking forward to putting together.

If anything, the new plastic should be slightly harder with a bit more spring back than the previous light blue/grey plastic which experiences more plastic deformation with less force.
