trainmaster Posted July 29, 2011 Share Posted July 29, 2011 Hornby always give us the loco and wagon when we renew, but when i'm out in model shops and toy fair ect... there are many other wagons with the year on them, some limited ed, but there are usually about 5-6 different ones, like the 2012 set i bought, haven't opened it because i thought oh, only 2012 of them made and then comes the train pack..... Hornby have made the annual limited edition vans every year since 1992 (i think as i haven't seen any earlier ones and 1992 is the first one i got). I just looked it up in the shop, and even the photo has its ladder missing, tut tut Hornby, shame on you. Snow_man Posted August 31, 2011 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Have now got my 2011 waggon and although i have been collected them all since the start must admit am slightly dissapointed with this years one!. I know we are in a period of austerity, but if you look at some of the waggons produced over the last few years 2004,05,06,09,10 are really nice ones. This years one is a copy of the 1997 van and as chl84 said they haven't added a ladder or painted the duck boards on the roof like they did with the 1997 version, even the year print is the same as font and type face as last year. Lets hope they are doing it as they are producing something great next year.I must add however, having ordered them with my local model shop at the same time i also bought the BR(ex GWR) horse box and that i am really impressed with the level of detail and quality of that model is fantastic. The annual waggons are bought from the catalogue, they are not part of the collectors club annual model. So you haven't upset anyone you have to buy them for old ones try auction site and this years one have a look in the waggon section of this years catalogue. This years one has been particularly late thats why i only just got it.
