i know they have different product codes, but from the untrained eye they look virtually the same, so could you run a live steam train from a power track which dcc trains use? i realise that you would only run the live steam train at the time, but would

the power track allow that to happen?
just curious, any information useful thankyou.

I am not sure what the difference is, except that the DCC power rail does not have a capacitor in it.

I would have both power rails installed on the layout, clearly marked, and use the appropriated rail. However, you cannot power DCC accessories

from a live steam powered layout.

I woud be inclined to have seperate tracks for each system.

They look the same, but they aren't the same. The R8206 has a capacitor fitted to prevent interference on television sets. If you're married and your wife likes to watch Eastenders then it would not be advisable to use the DCC power track.
