ET
I'm curruntly makeing a RAF airfield diorama around D-day in 1/72 scale, so far all I have is a Lancaster B.II, RAF bomber re-supply set and WW2 Raf personnel i was hoping for ideas of how I can expand this, Obviously no ideas which will cost masses of cash
nmcabecadas
There are several other RAF sets made by Airfix, as the Emergency set or Refuelling set. Those out of prodution can be find in EBay, and you may also add the Bofors AA gun, but depends how big will be your diorama.
Braille Dave
Maybe an engine change? OK, you wouldn't need the bomb trolleys, but you could still use the David Brown Tractor to tow the engine cradle. You'd need a Crane- The one in the RAF Recovery set would suffice. Bear in mind that even on Bomber Stations with hangers not all maintenance was, or could be, carried out inside, for all sorts of reasons....doesn't have to be an engine change- any control surface, or a turret even.... mike_arnold
There's the Airfix control tower of course and you can get the ancillary buildings AA guns and sandbagged positions, even some civilian cars which the pilots might drive (Oxford do 1940's sports cars ideal for a fighter Ace!)
