Howbi Posted September 22, 2017 Share Posted September 22, 2017 CV178 controls the volume of all the sounds together, the range is 1 to 8 where 8 is loudest..........if it is just the chuff you wish to reduce then the CV is 161, range 1 to 8........if you also wish to reduce the background steam hiss, change CV160 again range 1 to 8.......HB Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted September 25, 2017 Share Posted September 25, 2017 Unfortunately Hornby does not seem to have standardised on a common set of CVs to adjust sound levels (or some functions) between the various models.... a crib sheet is needed for each loco.
