  1. Do I get a "point" for saying 'Hello'?
  2. gazzavc.....have you tried resetting the decoder by writing value 8 to CV8. This will reset to default with an address of 03.
  3. Martin........Just look up in the header menu.....Shop - Hornby TT:120 - Track pieces. All pieces are shown with dimensions including radius of curves.
  4. Oh yes, it's the new commuter service called Boaty Mc Boatrain.......thinking_face
  5. I think she's listening to a cuckoo in the clouds 😁
  6. @Barry-350851 It has nothing to do with a short circuit, if the point clip is not making a perfect connection with the side of the rail then arcing will occur which generates heat, as the current demand increases from the layout so will the heat leading to melting of sleepers as described on many occasions on this Forum over the past 12 years in my experience. I also have experienced a heated point clip where my only feed to the track was via a siding then through the one point clip.
  7. Probably the publisher was closed due to the COVID pandemic.
  8. Have you re-addressed the two decoders as they all come as default 003?
  9. TT-man........I found your 18th March posts very easily, just touched your TM avatar which took me to your posts and scrolled back a couple of pages.
  10. @Rallymatt..........despite all the mis-information and unpleasantness have we managed to answer your original query? The CV29 calculator can be found here........http://www.2mm.org.uk/articles/cv29%20calculator.htm
  11. In my experience all new decoders (except Hornby TTS) have CV29 set to a value of 6. That is 128 speed steps (value 2) and DC operation (value 4) . Bit 0 (value 1) is not used. If a change of direction is required then it is necessary to use bit 0 and change CV29 to a value of 7 by adding 1. I have yesterday had to change two new decoders to CV29=3, that is Bit 0 =1 and Bit 1=2, that is 128 speed steps and reverse direction. Simples if you use the CV29 calculator online. There is no need to make it out to be complicated
  12. Club members will now get a 15 percent discount as Reward points, that's better than the previous 10 percent but you will have to wait 21days before you can benefit by buying another product.
  13. According to this photo capture of the decoder installation pin 1 is top rt hand corner from this viewpoint.
  14. I've just ordered one (ESU53900) from Coastal DCC......£39.35 + £4.20 p&p
  15. Will, Rob, Willie whatever your name is..........this Forum was ticking over very nicely until you decided to make a silly post to which some took an adverse view and you now have the audacity to complain about the moderators who have a responsibility to follow the guidelines laid down by Hornby precisely to avoid any unpleasantness. When are you going to realise that YOU are causing the unpleasantness by your unreasonable comments. Incidently, there is no clique as you put it, just a handful of amicable, long standing members who genuinely strive to maintain a friendly and informative Forum. HB
  16. You'll probably find the answer in your Membership Pack. I can't see any connection to Hornby so you should contact RailRiders. Have you redeemed your vouchers on Hornby previously?
  17. The Q1 is a 2 cylinder locomotive so you could look for a Hornby TTS steam decoder from any other 2 cylinder model.
  18. @Nigel........all the info you need is on this site, use pull down menu to click on Community then Advice. There are useful videos on baseboard construction.
  19. Also check the ends of the centre conductor rails as they can get bent down to touch the metal base.
  20. I would have thought the switch becomes redundant when you fit a decoder as that would take over all the lighting functions.
  21. To ensure that points are absolutely flat it is prudent to pin down a sleeper near the frog as shown because the slightest curvature will cause interrupted running as you've experienced.
  22. Change CV150 to 1 (default is 0) This is the most commonly recommended solution for TTS decoders to resolve jerky running.
  23. Or you could purchase points made by Bachmann that are pre-wired for DCC and avoid these problems.
  24. Read CV159.......this is the TTS identifier........I only have 7 TTS coded........ 165 = Castle class. 141 = King class. 143 = 2P class. 149 = Class 47. 135 = Class A4. 147 = Class 37. 175 = Class 08. Perhaps others could add to the list..........HB
