  1. Having previously decided on the layout I wanted and fixed it to the board over 2mm cork, today I checked the voltage across the track. Put a multi meter across the rails on each piece of track and got a constant 15.2 volts on every section. That was with the standard Hornby DCC power supply supplied with the Scotsman set. Could not find any voltage drops so very pleased so far.
  2. Thanks for the replies, I'll try that anyrail.com see how I get on👍
  3. I'm in the early stages of planning my track. Unfortunately there does not seem to be any information on the dimensions of the different track curves which would allow me to judge the space needed. What I mean is, if I complete a circle of 3rd radius curves, what would be the diameter? The same with all the other curve radiuses. I hope that made sense. Has anyone seen any information on this? I can't find it myself.
  4. Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. It would be interesting to see what they say if you have an obliging contact there.
  5. ARC PRO powerbase box has the following numbers on it, does anyone know what they mean? Ref - 10009038 C8435-19-362 I know C8435 is the powerbase model number but wondered if the -19-362 was some sort of date code?
  6. Are you using the newer Sport track or the original version? The older tracks grove is not so deep and would affect the running of newer cars which have a deeper guide blade.
  7. Hi Andy just read the post on the link you provided above which talks about BLE. I had no idea what this was but a quick Google search identified Bluetooth Low Energy as the most likely candidate. I'm still a little unclear on what that linked post was saying to be honest. However, good news is that I am hoping to be able to get hold of an old iPhone in a day or so to see if the speed issue on the app resolved itself on the Apple software.
  8. I have exactly the same issue. I am running the app on an android phone. Have tried deleting and re installing the app to no avail. I have heard that this may not be an issue on an I Phone, but as I don't possess one I can't verify that.
  9. Hi Andy Not at home at the moment but I'll give them a go when I get back and post here with result. I have ARC Air so will will put settings on minimum
  10. Hi Andy I"ve got a couple of Go! cars but notice they are marked as 6v underneath. I haven't run them on my standard Sport track as I didn't want to risk overloading them, but from what you say that may not happen. Are you able to confirm they will be ok?
  11. ARC Air has arrived and fitted to my track. Slight whine from cars as previously mentioned by others. The one big problem I have is that as my track has one Sport track crossover curve C8203 in it (making both lanes effectively one) as soon as you depress the trigger you get a power overload to the track and the unit cuts the power. This is not an issue with the ARC 1 Powerbase. The only way it will run is if I replace the crossover curve with a standard 2 lane one so I am now back to 2 separate lanes. I've had a look at the wiring into the track and the red and black power wires go into one connector on the motherboard of the power unit. It would appear that the only way I can run my crossover curve track is to isolate the power supply to one of the tracks to prevent the power overloading. Anyone else tried this modification on their track?
  12. Thanks Andy, I'm going to go with ARC Air at the moment, just ordered it, should be here before the easter weekend hopefully.
  13. Spent a bit of time digging around on the slot racer forum and came across an old post on this subject. Conclusion seemed to be that if you are running analogue cars then stick with ARC air don't use ARC pro. Various issues with whining engine noises and cars not working properly due to the different way ARC pro powers the track. Unless that issue has been resolved then looks like it will be ARC air for me as long as it can run my track in its current set up with one sport crossover making both lanes into one track.
  14. I race analogue cars. My track has one crossover section in it connecting both lanes together ( 2 circuits of the track = 1 lap). I am looking to upgrade my standard power supply / controller to ARC Air to get rid of the wire and I cannot forsee any problems running the above setup with it. However, I may have the chance to get hold of an ARC Pro Digital Powerbase. If I switch that to analogue mode would there be a problem running the above track setup that anyone is aware of? I'm just thinking ahead that if I did decide to go digital in the future I would already have the means to do it. Any advice appreciated.
